al-Baabiyyah
This sect is a misguided one which
is an offshoot of the Shee'ah
(Raafidhah) sect of al-Ithnaa
'Ashariyyah. Its first beginnings were
in Iran. It was called the
"al-Baabiyyah" because it was in
reference to its founder who called himself
"al-Baab". And al-Baab claimed
prophethood for himself, and that Allaah
was present within him.
The founder of al-Baabiyyah was a
man called 'Alee Muhammad
ash-Sheeraazee who began his da'wah in
1260A.H.
From amongst the false claims of
this man were that he claimed for himself
intercession or "the door" to
reaching the awaited Imaam al-Kharaafee.
Thereafter he claimed that he was Imaam
Mahdee himself. He later surpassed himself
and claimed he was in actual fact a prophet
and messenger who came forth with a book
called "al-Bayaan" which he
claimed was better than the Qur.aan. He
then exceed this by claiming that Allaah
was present within himself.
al-Baab and his followers staged a
conference in the desert in Dasht in
1264A.H. where they revealed their kufr and
announced that Islaam had been abrogated by
their religion "al-Kharaafee"
which opposed the muslims in their
fundamental pillars, their celebrations,
the issue of inheritance and other than
these.
