Islaamic viewpoint regarding sects
*Please appropriately reference

Question:
There have to date appeared many sects, such as the differing
Sooffiyyah sects: ash-Shaathiliyyah, al-Ibraaheemiyyah, and
al-Qaadiyaaniyyah, etc. So what is the Islaamic viewpoint
regarding these sects? And what is our position as Muslims
towards them and towards that which their followers propogate
of their evil and corrupted thoughts (in the name) of the
religion of Islaam?
Response:
We acknowledge that which conforms to the Book of Allaah and
the Sunnah
of His messenger (sal-Allaahu
`alayhe wa sallam), and reject that which opposes the
Book and the Sunnah.
And
with Allaah lies all success and may Allaah send prayers and
salutations upon our Prophet (sal-Allaahu
`alayhe wa sallam) and his family and his companions.
