Question: What is the ruling regarding the one who takes home a copy of the Qur.aan from the masjid, especially if this occurs a number of times?
Response:
The taking of a copy of the Qur.aan from the masjid is not permissible because the copies of the Qur.aan designated for the masjid are to remain in the masjid and not to be taken [out].
