Concerning the Muhaddith, the Shaykh - Hammaad
ibn Muhammad al-Ansaaree (rahima-hullaah),
it has been narrated by his son 'Abdul-Awwal that the Shaykh
said:
"Indeed,
the definition of the term ((jaahiliyyah)) is to say: It is
the period which was before the Prophethood of Muhammad (sal-Allaahu
`alayhe wa sallam)."
